Spatial Analysis of Changes in the Demographic Characteristics of the Cres-Lošinj Area Using the GIS Model

The paper aims to carry out a spatial analysis of the changes in selected demographic characteristics Cres-Lošinj area using GIS model. For this purpose, data from all censuses carried so far (1857−2021) were used, which primarily analyzed cartographically by Mean Center and Standard Deviational Ellipse (Directional Distribution) methods, are an integral part basic software package ArcGIS Desktop version 10.0 produced ESRI. Tabular graphical appendices used additionally complement analyses. analyses on three levels: level as whole, individual Town Cres Mali Lošinj, settlements. results showed tendency mean center population moving towards north 1857−1948 period, then southwest 1948−1991 while subsequent was again north. Among local self-government units, common feature movement is that observed period (1857−2021), particularly last year (2021), centers very close town/municipality.
